PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This job role is part of the Bank’s Junior Professionals Programme. The purpose is to provide the candidate with an opportunity to acquire further banking, finance, and trade development skills in order to contribute impactful diverse ideas to the operations of the Bank and, where relevant, the successful candidate could be considered for a permanent role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The role of the position holder will be to manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between the Bank and its subsidiaries, provide required accounting functions / services in line with the approved SLA for review and finalization of the Senior Manager-Finance and the Chief Finance Officer.
2. Preparation of monthly trial balance and monthly management accounts for the Bank’s subsidiaries.
3. Prepare IFRS compliant financial statements for the Bank’s subsidiaries.
4. Design and Creation of Chart of Accounts for new subsidiaries of the Bank.
5. Reconcile all accounts payable activities to ensure that payments to suppliers and creditors are done on time and in line with laid down procedures.
6. Prepare bank and petty cash reconciliations and clear all outstanding transactions in a timely manner.
7. Manage all accounting activities, analysis, and reports related to the Staff Provident Fund.
8. Reconcile all fixed assets subledgers to the General Ledger balances ensuring correct accounting classification in line with IFRS.
9. Perform reconciliations of Intercompany accounts of the Bank and its subsidiaries.
10. Responsible for performing the reconciliations of sub ledgers to the General ledger for payroll, operating expenses, other receivables and other liabilities transactions and related provisions ageing reports where applicable.
11. Responsible for the recording of daily transactions relating to operating expenses and fixed assets and any other accounting entries that may arise.
12. Responsible for ensuring that only valid and correct of payments requests are processed daily.
13. Attend to both internal and external audit requests related to the subsidiaries of the Bank.
14. Initiate and support the implementation of any enhancements to the SAP and/or Finacle systems from a financial cycle perspective, to improve the efficiency of processes, effectiveness of systems and controls and the usefulness of financial information for making informed decisions.
15. Ensure a continuous improvement to financial processes through appropriate scoping, identifying required upgrades and ensuring properly managed enhancement as may be required by the needs of specific projects throughout the Bank e.g., reporting systems to fit Bank products.
16. Working alongside the Core Banking ERP systems Consultants to ensure that accounting controls within the system are working well, that all users are trained, putting in place procedures to overcome routine problems and to ensure the ongoing integrity and unbroken flow of required data within the system.
17. Preparation of interim financial statements.
18. Any other duties as may be assigned by senior management.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL
1. Good first degree in a relevant field.
2. Completion of Articles with a Big Four firm is a must. Chartered Accounting (CA) qualification in progress is also required.
3. Sound experience of at least 3 years within one of the Big Four Accounting firms and demonstrable knowledge of IFRS and related accounting rules is a must. Exposure to the Banking or financial services industry whilst with the accounting firm is an added advantage.
4. Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse and change oriented setting.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or French. Knowledge of the Bank’s other working languages is an added advantage
6. Proven experience in ERP systems, especially SAP and/or Finnacle.
7. Willingness to travel extensively and to work long hours where required to achieve the Bank’s objectives.
8. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including ability to organize and manage human resources to attain goals.

CONTRACTUAL INFORMATION:
1. 2-year contract
2. Willing and able to relocate to Cairo
